One of the most overlooked aspects of exercise is stretching before and after a strenuous workout.
Stretching not only increases and enhances flexibility of different muscle groups but you will find it much easier to do things such as bend, stand or squat during your workout.
Stretching before a workout will allow your body to become more pliable and less prone to injury. Make sure you incorporate dynamic stretches pre-workout to warm your muscles up before you jump into a workout.
After an intense workout, it’s very important to gradually reduce your heart rate. Static stretches will be most beneficial post workout because they help your body cool down and help in muscle recovery and repair after a strenuous workout. Stretching after an intense weight training session will also help reduce soreness!
