You’ve seen some of our workouts and healthy meal ideas but you may still be hesitant in making that jump into living a healthy lifestyle. It can be scary but you are definitely not alone. Here are some of our tips on how to be successful and Get Fit..Now
1. Create a vision board/book
Make it so that you can physically see your goals and remind yourself of why you are making this change. Write down your favorite motivation quotes and put up pictures that inspire you to change. Is it your family? An old picture of yourself? Your favorite celebrity? It’s YOUR vision board so fill it up with whatever encourages YOU.
2. Set 2 small weekly goals
Setting up small goals each week such as finishing a 5 minute workout or going for a morning run will help keep you motivated and your energy up.
3. Get an accountability partner
It’s always better to have someone there who will help keep you on track towards your goals. With it being wedding week, we’d suggest brides to have one of their bridesmaids join them in their healthy meal planning and exercise routines. What better quality time then sharing stories on a 6 AM run?! Your partner can be anyone, your boyfriend, sister, brother, husband, daughter, coworker, anyone you choose to share in your success.
4. Stay consistent
Eating healthy one week then diving into a junk food eating frenzy the next is not a way you want to live. Not to mention, you’ll probably feel horrible by the end of the week. Maintain a regular healthy diet by filling up your fridge and cabinets with healthy foods and snacks to keep you from falling off the wagon. The same goes with exercise, do frequent workouts each week and trust me, the endorphins you get will keep you going.
5. Eating frequently
Skipping meals is one of the worse things you can do to ruin your diet so always keep some food handy even when you’re on the go. Those who skip meals tend to overeat at the next opportunity because without the necessary nutrients, your body and brain tries to overcompensate for it and you’re left feeling groggy and unmotivated. Eating frequently will help keep your metabolism going and keep you happy but don’t go overboard because even eating too much healthy food can be bad for you.
6. Weigh out your meals
This actually goes further into our last tip about overeating. By weighing out your meals, you get to know the EXACT amounts of the food you’re eating and have better control over what goes into your body. Weighing out your meals can prevent you from eating too much of a good thing. Just by using a smaller plate, it can help you limit your portions and lose weight.
