We all want to feel our best this summer but feeling your best is going to be hard if you’re feeling bloated or just feel like crap.
Eating a lot of processed foods and sugary desserts can leave you feeling groggy and tired but just by adding some lemon slices to your water, you can help balance your pH levels and decrease inflammation.
Water, when combined with citrus fruits will help your body flush out toxins. Some examples of citrus fruits includes oranges, lemons and grapefruits.
These drinks are called “detox waters” and they are basically fruit infused waters that are meant to cleanse your body and help regulate your digestive system. They have also been shown to prevent chronic diseases, help you lose weight and even improve your skin!
Here is one of my favorite ways to prepare my detox water:
– 5 slices of cucumbers
– A few mint leaves
– Half a lemon
– 3 orange slices
– 2 cups of cold water
Just combine all of these ingredients into a cup or bottle and drink up!
To help store the fruit and mint leaves, I would suggest you use a detox water bottle so it’ll be easier for you to change out the ingredients.
So how is this detox water supposed to help you?
The cucumbers are there to help prevent water retention while the mint leaves help with your digestion. The lemon and orange slices are there to flush out toxins and stimulate your immune system.
They cleanse your body while also leaving you refreshed and energize. Seriously, this is a really great way to change things up if you’ve been tired of drinking just plain water.
So make sure you keep your body hydrated by drinking lots of water and maybe add in some fruit for a great tasting natural cleanse!
